 Severe Flooding Hits Bangladesh as Millions Face Growing Humanitarian Crisis

Days of relentless heavy rainfall, flash floods from the surrounding hills, and rising upstream river waters have triggered severe flooding across several regions of Bangladesh. The hardest-hit areas include Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachhari, Sylhet, and Sunamganj, where vast communities in the country's southeastern and northeastern regions have been submerged. Thousands of families have been forced to leave their homes and seek shelter in emergency relief centers, while many others remain stranded in floodwaters, struggling to survive under extremely difficult conditions.

According to the latest reports, the floods and landslides have claimed numerous lives and affected more than one million people across the country. Floodwaters have cut off major roads, disrupted electricity and mobile communication networks, and created an acute shortage of safe drinking water in many communities. Government agencies, the Bangladesh Army, Navy, Fire Service, and volunteer organizations are continuing rescue and relief operations. Alongside government efforts, humanitarian organizations and volunteers continue working tirelessly to support affected families.
